Status
On 27 March 2018, the Polish government adopted a draft Act on Personal Data Protection. On 5 April 2018, the bill was submitted to the lower house of Polish Parliament. The legislative process is underway.
Approach
The Polish Government intends to introduce a completely new Act on Personal Data Protection. The main goal of the new law is to ensure full effectiveness of all GDPR provisions under Polish law.

Status
The French Parliament adopted the draft bill on 14 May 2018. The changes to Law No. 78-17 dated 6 January 1978 (the “French Data Protection Act”) will enter into force in 25 May 2017.
Approach
The French Data Protection Act has been amended with the changes required by the GDPR. An ordinance – an act adopted by the Government and then ratified by the Parliament – will be adopted within six months of the enactment of the law to amend the current French Data Protection Act for uniformity and clarity.
